KOADE was created by Cheryl and Craig. A mother and son who share a deep belief in the power of scent to connect us to the moments that matter most.
The idea was simple, and it came from lived experience. Smell is the most underestimated of our senses. It asks nothing of us, yet it gives us everything. A flash of somewhere we once loved, someone we once knew, a feeling we thought was gone.
We wanted to bottle that. Not a trend, not a mood board. Life itself.
Every fragrance we create is rooted in a real place, a real season, a real feeling.
And every candle we make is an invitation to go back there.
INSPIRED BY NAN
Ten years ago, we said goodbye to someone who shaped everything.
Our grandmother. Mum's mum, was a remarkable woman. Warm, funny, full of stories. Dementia took a great deal from her, and from us. But in caring for her during those years, something unexpected happened.
We noticed that certain smells could reach her in ways that nothing else could. A familiar scent would soften her face, settle her breathing, bring something back. Briefly, gently that the illness had tried to take. It was humbling to witness. It reminded us that scent doesn't just sit in the present.
It lives in every year of our lives at once. It holds the people we love, the places we return to, the ordinary days that turned out to be the ones worth keeping.
KOADE is our tribute to that. To her.
To all the moments we are still carrying without realising it.

What We Make & Why It Matters
Every KOADE candle is hand-poured in London in small batches, using a carefully developed
blend of coconut, rapeseed and soy wax. We blend our own fragrance recipes in-house.
No off-the-shelf scents, no shortcuts.
Our collections are built around memory and season. The Glass Collection captures the natural world. Freshly cut summer grass, deep autumn woodland, the sharp green of a forest in winter. The Steel Collection goes further inward. The seduction of night, the first breath of morning, the smokiness of an evening that went on just long enough.
Each scent is designed to do one thing above all else: take you somewhere worth going back to.
We are a small brand with a clear purpose. We do not make candles for rooms. We make candles for people. And for the memories they have not yet remembered they have.
